On June 13, 2024, in Almaty, Smart Solutions held an HR Coffee Break: Step by step towards strategic HR. During the event, they discussed trends in the labor market, talked about risks, fines and judicial practices of civil contracts and about the transition from administrative to strategic HR.

An important focus of the event was the discussion of the fact that the labor market is actively developing and HR functions are becoming more complex. Today, the HR industry is no longer just personnel work and recruitment. It’s more about strategy, values, corporate culture, employee retention and building a strong team. Therefore, HR functions outsourcing is like an “ambulance” for an enterprise. The main task that it solves is to free up the company’s resources in order to be able to deal not with administrative issues, but with key business functions.
“We, as an HR provider, are to a certain extent a barometer of the market and the requests that we receive reflect its current state. This year, requests for outsourcing have increased 5 times. We very often change the outsourcing of personnel records management, Payroll, preparation and development of documents, legislation. All these changes are difficult to quickly track. Therefore, in order to update all documents, many companies delegate the above functions to outsourcing companies,” – said Tatiana Skachko.
In addition, Victoria Mukuyeva spoke about the difference between civil contracts and employment contracts, common mistakes when concluding civil contracts, the consequences of recognizing such contracts as labor contracts, fines and risks in the civil contract processes.
And guest speaker Alexey Chistyakov shared his experience of transition from administrative to strategic HR, told what needs to be taken into account when creating an HR strategy, how to integrate HR with business goals, as well as the effective use of HR analytics in work.
The second part of the event was dedicated to the panel discussion HR Practice, in which Ainur Amanzholova Head of Talent, Culture and Inclusion of British American Tobacco, Olga Kim Head of HR LG Electronics, Ardak Uderbaev HRD GT MACHINERY and Aset Nurpeisov CEO BUHTA took part.
Participants discussed the topics of using artificial intelligence and developing emotional intelligence among employees. They talked about new trends in the field of HR, such as adaptive intelligence, interaction with Human to Human (H2H) personnel, and the features of training employees of different generations.
The topic of staff retention has become no less valuable, since in modern realities one often has to not only work on this issue, but also fight to retain key talents. They talked about the importance of simple one-on-one conversations between the employee and the immediate supervisor and the effectiveness of using Stay Interview in the process of staff retention.
Participants actively asked questions and exchanged professional experience in solving various situations from their own practice.
