Salary Analytics in Kazakhstan: trends and forecasts
In 2023, the labor market in Kazakhstan is particularly dynamic. Its activity is primarily manifested in the formation of new trends. Understanding these trends is important for both employers and job seekers. Thanks to it, the former can develop effective recruitment strategies, while the latter can identify more favorable job offers.
Trend #1 – Young Blood
Many companies today are interested in strengthening their teams with young professionals. The key argument is innovative thinking, flexibility, and a desire for personal growth. However, young employees are increasingly unwilling to accept unpaid trial periods or low wages. They value their time, finances, and efforts invested in education, and want to receive fair compensation for their work right away (on average, not less than 250,000 KZT per month after deducting all taxes).
Trend #2 – Influx of Foreign Workforce
Kazakhstan is witnessing an increase in the influx of workers from the EAEU countries. In 2022, 76.2 thousand people came to the country for work, which is 70.8% more than in 2021. The majority of labor migrants were Russians (63.3 thousand people), followed by residents of Kyrgyzstan (8.8 thousand people), and Armenians (2.3 thousand people). Among the officially employed foreigners in Kazakhstan, managers and their deputies, heads of structural units, and specialists predominate.
Trend #3 – Entry of Major Logistics Companies
The appearance of major logistics players in the Kazakhstan market has generated significant demand for logistics professionals at various levels – from transportation logisticians to top management (CEO, COO, Commercial Director). The high demand for these specialists fuels employer competition for experienced experts and, consequently, leads to a substantial increase in salaries.
In general, the labor market in Kazakhstan has a high demand for professionals such as auditors, lawyers, recruiters, procurement specialists, medical professionals, educators, and more. Moreover, the generosity of employers when it comes to compensation is truly impressive. For instance, an accountant – depending on qualifications, knowledge, and experience – can earn anywhere from 350,000 to 1,500,000 KZT per month, while an auditor can earn from 500,000 to 1,000,000 KZT and a logistician can earn from 450,000 KZT to 800,000 KZT.
As we can see, the labor market in Kazakhstan is in a phase of active development. Influenced by the global geopolitical situation, it is becoming more attractive to large international companies and offers qualified specialists in the country the opportunity to find decent employment with favorable financial terms of employment.
